At Blue, we want the electric, the bold, and every single risk taker.
 .
Our issue, "angel", navigates themes of rape/sexual assault, eventual recovery, the implementation of healthier habits, reverence, the intersection of religion and queerness, angels, demons, how Lucifer was both & so was the person you're writing about.
.
Each of our issues is after a song title or lyric fragment; "angel" is after the song "not about angels" by Birdy.
 .
THIS IS A PAID OPPORTUNITY.
 .
We are offering a prize of $100 for the winning cover artist / photographer & $10 for every accepted piece.
 .
This issue is open to ALL creative mediums, including poetry, prose, confessions, photos, digital art, unsent letters or texts, etc.
 .
All contributors will be required to sign a brief contract which grants Blue exclusive First World English Rights and First World Electronic Rights.
 .
All submissions must be previously unpublished; we will consider work that has been on social media IF it has since been deleted or archived.
 .
Enclose a brief third person bio, your pronouns, & how you specifically relate to Blue as an lgbtq women or nonbinary individual in the email body (we care more about what makes you angry or hopeful or sad than previous publications for said cover letter).
 .
Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but please withdraw your work if it is accepted elsewhere.
 .
The good: confessional poetry, LGBTQ+ narrative, unflinching emotional honesty, free verse and experimental, open vulnerability, what you would say if there were no consequences.
 .
The bad: traditional form, rhyme schemes, cliches, generalities, and playing it safe.
 .
The ugly: homophobia, racism, sexism, ableism, xenophobia, slut shaming, fat shaming, romanticism of mental illness, etc. is NEVER tolerated and will automatically earn you an indefinite block via Blue. This includes anything posted on your social media accounts or shown in other aspects of your life, because Blue does not believe in the separation of art and its creators.
